Persist. Pivot. Or Concede. These were a few terms tossed about in a recent video excerpt I watched with Matthew McConaughey, expanding upon how he utilizes ‘greenlights’ in his life, and the art of perfectly timing your assessment of whether a situation is, in fact, inevitable.

I’ve got two modes — and acceptance ain’t one.

I can recall penning several columns back in my days as a journalist of sorts, speaking to what I assume is the fairly common phenomenon of being averse to any sudden change, upheaval, uncertainty… all things that tend to make those who favor routine a bit uneasy.

Is this the most constructive approach to life? Certainly not.

Anyone else in that precipice-of-spring rut, or just me?

One would think the lingering daylight hours and sun streaked landscapes beckoning blossoms and blades of grass would be a welcome respite from what has been, despite a somewhat disappointing lack of snowfall, a seemingly endless winter slumber. And yet, there’s this feeling of nearly one quarter of the year being over, with little to show for it.
